Description
This unit was removed from a lab during a clearout.
The user of this unit reported several faults as below:
The unit has displayed error messages several times. Initially, during the first time I turned it on, it displayed the message 'error 5'. After powering off and on again, the unit worked okay. This same problem has occurred probably 50% of the time I turn the device on, and on top of this there is occasions where the error message 5 displays repeatedly followed by error message 7.
Error 5 is 'Lamp Failure' The instrument is unable to detect a peak signal for wavelength calibration. Possible causes of this error are that the lamp has failed or that a sample has been left in the sample chamber during start-up.
Error 7 is 'Power on self-test error' The instrument is unable to detect the monochromator reference position sensor. Please contact Bibby Scientific service or your local distributor.
At our site we powered up the unit but did not get either error - but presumably they are intermittent.
