We are grateful for this opportunity which allowed us to strengthen our knowledge of sustainability and the direct links between our business practices and environmental impact. The training was both compelling and invaluable, sparking meaningful conversations across the team and generating new ideas on how we can improve operations while encouraging each staff member to reflect on their own personal impact.

What We Learned

The IEMA (now ISEP) Skills for Managers course gave us:

  1. A clear understanding of sustainability principles and how they apply to day to day business operations.
  2. Practical tools for embedding sustainable practices into company strategy and processes.
  3. The confidence to engage colleagues in discussions about environmental impact, both in the workplace and beyond.

Why It Matters to Us

Since moving our head office to Caerphilly in 2020, we’ve been proud to be a local employer whose growth has been supported by CCBC. Their investment in our skills not only strengthens our ability to operate responsibly but also allows us to contribute to a greener local economy.

The training will help us:

  1. Engage our staff more deeply in sustainability discussions.
  2. Align operations with environmental best practice.
  3. Build resilience by embedding green thinking into every level of decision making.

Looking Ahead

We see this training as another stepping stone for ongoing growth in our sustainability journey. The team at UniGreenScheme is excited to keep building on these skills, taking forward the knowledge gained from ACT Training and IEMA (now ISEP), and continuing to make sustainability central to how we work every day.

We appreciate the continued support from Caerphilly Council and look forward to future opportunities for development and collaboration.
