Description
Beckman Coulter Optima L80 Ultracentrifuge
This item was removed from a facility where it was surplus to requirements.
The centrifuge appears to operate normally at lower speeds and temperatures. However, when tested at higher settings, the unit was only able to reach approximately 30,000 rpm before the display began flashing, the machine emitted an audible alert, and the run stopped. This was repeated several times with the same result.
During testing, the vacuum reading showed <20, while the temperature did not rise above 20°C before the run terminated.
Due to this fault, the unit has not been fully tested and should be considered accordingly.
