The unit has had a replacement actuator and gas strut fitted by a service engineer who then fully tested the unit.

Speed tested to 3600rpm (rotor not included).

It was then temperature tested with a digital thermometer (not included)

37ºC our thermometer showed 34ºC.

4ºC our thermometer showed 1.0ºC.

-9ºC(min) our thermometer showed -5.0ºC.

We would suggest that it was the probe placement that caused the temp readings to be a bit inaccurate.

The unit is in reasonable cosmetic condition but has been previously used. The start button is damaged but still works.

The unit powers on and has been tested. It spins up to 4100rpm, but the rotor is rated at 4300rpm. When set to its lowest which is -10 degrees it got down as low as -12. When set to its max which is 40 degrees it displayed 39 and was at 37.

The Rotor number displayed T515.

The Buckets Serial number is 0306/01.

The buckets Cat Number is 11210335.

The number on the bottom of the buckets is Ch. 007027 S.303.

The bucket adaptors inside the buckets were numbered ALC R2035 & the Cat Number is 11172435.

The ALC 2035 Adapter is for 50ml tubes.

The unit powers up, but shortly after running it produces error code 7 preventing it from being tested, therefore this item is sold as Spares or Repairs.

Error 7 = REFRIGERATION SYSTEM FAILURE There was no apparent drop in chamber temperature thirty seconds after the refrigeration system started to cool. Notify your Thermo Field Service Engineer.

We were able to open it manually, but the automatic door open function is faulty.

Thermo Shandon Cytospin 4 Cytocentrifuge Lab

This Thermo Shandon Cytospin 4 Cytocentrifuge was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.

The unit has been inspected by a service engineer who fitted new plastic hinges fitted. The repair isn't perfect, but it's functional

It also appears to have a battery error. There is a battery soldered to the main board, it probably needs replacing. The unit shows an error 4 code when first switched on but if you press stop the code goes away, and the unit starts up normally.

The error relates to a discharged battery.

The unit is in otherwise full working condition and is in good cosmetic condition with just the marks from the repairs.
