Description
This Baskerville Reactor System with Control Box was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.
The unit powers up and we were informed that it is in working order. The lab just upgraded to a newer system.
- It is an 800ml capacity Hastelloy 265 reactor that comes with temperature and pressure controllers and a stirrer shaft.
- The maximum operating T is 300 deg., but we operated it at 295 deg.
- The maximum operating pressure is 165 bars, but we didn’t go above 100 bars.
- It has an oxygen gas inlet (for oxidation reactions) and a nitrogen gas inlet for pressurising.
- The lab used it for oxidation of hydrocarbons (organic compounds) at or below the above-mentioned conditions of T and P.
- The organic compounds we used are amides and amidines. That is N-containing hydrocarbons which represent chemical wastes.
