Description

This Baskerville Reactor System with Control Box was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.

The unit powers up and we were informed that it is in working order. The lab just upgraded to a newer system.

It is an 800ml capacity Hastelloy 265 reactor that comes with temperature and pressure controllers and a stirrer shaft.
The maximum operating T is 300 deg., but we operated it at 295 deg.
The maximum operating pressure is 165 bars, but we didn’t go above 100 bars.
It has an oxygen gas inlet (for oxidation reactions) and a nitrogen gas inlet for pressurising.
The lab used it for oxidation of hydrocarbons (organic compounds) at or below the above-mentioned conditions of T and P.
The organic compounds we used are amides and amidines. That is N-containing hydrocarbons which represent chemical wastes.
