Description
This Microflow Biological Safety Cabinet was removed from a laboratory where it was surplus to requirements.
A 13amp plug was fitted for testing. The unit powers on and the lights work. Upon power-up, the fan ran at 100% and showed a battery fail error. None of the other buttons would function whilst this was happening.
We let it run for a little while to see if the error would clear but after approx 3 or 4 minutes the unit started to smoke from the Right hand side where the power section is. We removed the side cover and you can see one of the components on the board has failed.
The filters have been taken out during decontamination. Manuals for the unit are also included.
