Description
This Olympus BX50 Microscope was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.
The unit is in good cosmetic condition but it does have various marks and signs of general use.
The microscope has been assessed by a service engineer.
Servicing comments:
The microscope is not in a usable condition so a service could not be completed.
• Stage rack broken and does not work in one direction. This is no longer available as a spare part.
• 20X objective is a phase contrast lens but the microscope is not equipped with a phase contrast condenser.
• Eyepieces are not a pair, therefore there are field of view issues. Also, the left eyepiece has been denuded of coatings and appears cloudy.
• Focus clamp clutch is fused – would require extensive refurbishment.
