Leica DM IRB Inverted Microscope with Incubation Chamber, EBQ 100 Lamp Supply, Hot Air Blower & Cameras
This system was removed from a university laboratory where it was surplus to requirements.
This is an older, heavily used system and is being sold as-is as a project. It is generally operational but will require significant cleaning, servicing and general TLC to bring it into better working order.
The system is in fair overall cosmetic condition for its age and use. There is a substantial amount of old grease present across the microscope body and controls, which will require stripping and cleaning to free up the mechanisms. Orange staining is also visible on the slide stage and within the incubation chamber.
The microscope, Leica EBQ 100 lamp power supply and hot air blower all powered on and have **PAT passed (Class 1)**.
The Cairn Uniblitz shutter supply powers on and the shutter operates. The illumination within the power switch is intermittent.
The hot air blower operates as expected and has been tested above the stated 18°C starting temperature. Due to the way the system heats, reaching higher incubation temperatures such as 37°C would require an extended warm-up period and was not fully tested to this temperature.
The microscope controls require attention. The **coarse focus is currently inoperative**, while the fine focus is functional. X and Y stage adjustment operates but is stiff. The objective turret/objectives are also extremely stiff and could not be safely removed for detailed inspection. The fitted objectives nevertheless appeared optically clear during a brief test using a sample slide.
The eyepieces have been removed and cleaned and appear free from scratches.
Two cameras are included but were not tested due to the lack of a compatible PC/interface system.
Given the age, heavy previous use, stiff controls and servicing requirements, this system is recommended for a buyer prepared to undertake cleaning, lubrication and refurbishment. It is therefore listed as Spares/Repair.
