Olympus BX51 Microscope with 2x CoolLED pE-100 Light Sources & Combiner

This item was removed from a laboratory where it was surplus to requirement.

The microscope is in good cosmetic condition and is operational.

Both CoolLED pE-100 light sources power on and operate as expected.

The 470nm CoolLED source has been tested with the fitted FITC filter cube and is working correctly.

The585nm CoolLED source powers on and operates, however an image could not be obtained using the fitted RFP filter cube. The 585nm source is understood to require a suitable filter set, such as a Texas Red filter cube, which is not included. Imaging performance at 585nm has therefore not been verified in the supplied configuration.

One of the CoolLED controllers is fitted with a replacement power supply.

The included Olympus XM10 camera uses a FireWire interface. Suitable FireWire-compatible hardware and software will therefore be required for use.

Please note:

Cosmetic marking is present on the left side of the microscope body from marker ink associated with a previous service sticker.

CoolLED light sources are configured for 470nm and 585nm.

470nm fluorescence operation has been verified with the FITC filter cube.

585nm imaging has not been verified with the supplied RFP filter cube.

A suitable compatible filter cube may be required for 585nm fluorescence imaging.

The Olympus XM10 camera uses a FireWire connection.
