Description
This Grotrian Steinweg Model 130 Solid Wood Upright Piano is being sold on behalf of one of our university clients as they were no longer using it.
We recently had an appraisal carried out on it and the following was the result;
Grotrian Steinweg(18583) c 1906 H: 134cms 85 keys Bass strings tired and weak. 18 plastic keytops missing. Hammer reface, Tape and damper felt replacement in the ’80s but now in need of thorough regulation and several action repairs. Ebonised casework showing its age with veneer damage to treble toe. More or less up to pitch.
Our team also made an assessment:
The instrument is in reasonably poor cosmetic condition. It has quite a lot of scrapes and scratches all over, and 7 White keys are missing the covers.
All keys work fine although the lowest A is a bit sticky and the sustain pedal works as it should. The right rear castor is not the correct one for the piano but it is functional.
Overall the unit clearly needs some refurbishment throughout. Please note our shipping is a pallet shipping option - they will unload the unit kerbside, but will not take it off the pallet, or help bring it inside.
