Description
This Kemmler Osnabruck Solid Wood Upright Piano was removed from a university as it was no longer required.
We recently had an appraisal carried out on it and the following was the result;
Kemmler Upright c.1925 H: 125cms 85 keys Poor Ivories throughout,5 missing/damaged. Multiple action repairs and regulations are now needed despite tape replacement/hammer reface in ’80s. Bass strings have good sound but one is broken. Treble pitch 200cents flat, bass pitch 100 cents flat suggesting some structural instability.
Our own team also made an assessment:
It is in reasonable used cosmetic condition but it does have various scrapes, marks and signs of use.
The A# and B keys in the 4th Octave are not working properly. The hammer is not attached to the A# key, but it is with the piano. The B key in the same octave appears to have a break near the bottom of the hammer. It is also missing some parts of the White key covers on 3 keys.
It has 3003 written in pencil on the back of all of the panels we think this possibly may be the model number.
