Description
This unit was removed from a university engineering workshop as surplus to requirements.
We have tested the unit and both the heating element and belt appear to work properly. The temperature controller appeared to work properly. We didn't try adjusting the belt speed, but it seemed to be running smoothly at the set speed. We didn't measure the belt speed but presumably its fairly accurate.
At the right-hand side of the machine there is some additional controllers and a temperature gauge - but it looks like it needs a probe which we didn't have so we havn't tested these. However we did try to measure temp on our probe but the end burnt off - we don't really have a probe for temperatures over 600-700C. We did record 900C on our thermometer before the end burnt off though. Probably the unit will reach the 1000C which is the max set point on the controller.
