Description
This Mitchell of Keighley Engineering Workshop Lathe was removed from a university engineering workshop where it was surplus to requirements.
The university told us it powers up and has been used recently, but said that it may need additional safety guards to be fitted to bring it up to modern standards. We have not conducted an assessment of this so any buyer will need to review the guards in accordance with regulations like PUWER.
There are some machine tools and gear cogs with it. There is also a safety guard supplied with it.
It has a 75cm chuck fitted. The bed length is 170cm. The speed range is from 22.5 - 750 rpm as indicated on the gear lever plates
The auto-feed screws are in good condition with no chips or bends. The bed is in good condition with no damage. It is in overall good condition for its age but does have a patina. It will need oiling before it is used again.
It requires a 415v 3 phase power to operate. The electric motor is a 5 hp / 7.8 Amp unit.
