Description
This Fisher Scientific AccuSpin Micro R Laboratory Centrifuge was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.
The unit is in good used cosmetic condition but it does have some marks from stickers and general use.
Unit powers up fine and appears to run as it should. The lid wouldn't open initially and it came with paperclips velcroed to the unit.
This would suggest they had been using the emergency release to open the lid. We have greased and oiled the lid release and it does now appear to work as it should.
The unit was run at 2000rpm for 5 mins which it did fine. We set the unit to 37degC but the temperature didn't move from 10degC.
We then ran it at the max of 13,000rpm for 5 mins which it also achieved without issue. The temperature rose from 10degC to 16DegC in those 5 mins.
The centrifuge runs very quietly.
When left long enough the unit does start to chill. You can hear the compressor kick in but it does appear to take quite some time for the temperature to drop. It was set to -9 and left for a few hours. The unit showed -9 but our thermometer showed -22degC.
