This Jouan CR 4-12 Refrigerated Benchtop Centrifuge with Rotor & Buckets was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements.

The unit is in reasonably good cosmetic condition but has tape residue all over it. It seems to only have minor marks other than this. It has a user manual with it.

The unit powers up but acts erratically. It works for about 10-20 minutes before making noise and aborting the run. We suspect the motor bearings are faulty.

The cooling system seems to be functional.

There is a 5000rpm swing arm rotor inside with microplate buckets.

It is sold for spares/repairs due to the motor fault.

The unit was tested at 3000 RPM for 30 minutes without issue. While it can be set to 3400 RPM, it experiences a temporary dip to around 2400 RPM before stabilizing.
