There were no known faults at the time of last use, however it is likely due to the extended period of inactivity, the x-ray tube may no longer be functional and may require replacement. We are unable to confirm this.
Disclaimer; Users should seek technical expertise before attempting to power on, as inactive tubes may present a risk of cracking due to uneven heating.

This Molecular Devices ImageXpress Ultra XLS System was removed from a university during a lab clearout.
The lab informed us that there was a the following error in the software and it was too expensive for them to get an engineer in to diagnose further. As a result of the below,.
During start up, there was a DSP 111 error reported for the Y axis and testing with PolyCom app confirmed that this was only on the Y axis. The Y stayed free moving at all times, having never initialised.
We had a Molecular Devices engineer assess the unit. They recommended that it is beyond repair and can only be used for spares.
Only the following parts can be used as spares for other ImageXpress models

488(nm) + 561(nm) - Coherent
408(nm) + 630(nm) - Blue Sky
The main stage + beam splitter wheel
The remaining parts are specifically for the Ultra XLS models only

The unit powers up and is in good working order (thermometer not included).
It is in good cosmetic condition but will require a replacement screw-in type CO2 filter, as the original has a broken end.
The unit was successfully tested using a filter from another incubator.
