Controlled Temperature & Humidity Test Chamber, 1000L, -40°C to +200°C

This system is being offered for sale on behalf of a client due to being surplus to ongoing requirements at The National Robotarium, Edinburgh.

The unit is a 1000L controlled temperature and humidity test chamber with a stated operating temperature range of -40°C to +200°C. Chambers of this type are used for environmental simulation, reliability testing, thermal cycling, humidity conditioning and accelerated product evaluation across laboratory, electronics, manufacturing and research environments.

According to the client, the chamber is in very good used condition and close to new in appearance and working order. It was rarely used between 2022 and 2026, with fewer than 30 recorded uses, and no issues or faults logged. The client has advised that the chamber has not been recalibrated since original purchase, however no loss of calibration has been identified. Routine internal maintenance, including replacement of water, cleaning of the water container and condenser cleaning, has been carried out in line with the user manual. No external maintenance record is available.

Native onboard software supplied with the chamber is included. The client has also advised that the system features an Ethernet port providing access to a LAN monitoring system as referenced in the user manual. Videos of the system in operation are available on request.

Functional tests included the operation of the microplate tray and setting the temperature to 37ºC. Based on these checks, the system appears to be fully operational.

CTI-Cryogenics 9600 Compressor With Auto Transformer SKE 331-3

This system was removed from a university laboratory where it was surplus to requirements.

The CTI-Cryogenics 9600 helium compressor is supplied with an SKE 331-3 auto transformer, used to step down a 440V US 3-phase input to 220V suitable for the compressor.

The compressor features a dropped phase detector and will not operate unless all three input phases are present and correctly aligned. A cold head is required for operation (not included) and can be sourced separately. Replacement of the compressor adsorber is recommended as part of routine servicing.

 The helium loop is still pressurised, and so is unlikely to have been contaminated

This system must be installed and wired by a qualified electrician. The unit was confirmed to be working prior to removal, but needs wiring up.

OAI UV Exposure System with 2105C2 Controller & OAI 150 Exposure Timer

This system was removed from a facility where it was surplus to requirements.

All components power on and operate together.

The UV exposure system illuminates when the 2105C2 illumination controller is activated and the Exposure command is triggered on the OAI 150.

Both the illumination controller and the exposure timer show functional power indicators. A 5-second test exposure was successfully carried out using the OAI 150.

The UV exposure system is fitted with an exhaust duct and anode adapter cable, and includes a shutter cable with sensor and auxiliary fittings. No further testing has been performed.

This system was removed from a lab as it was no longer required.

It was in full working order prior to removal from the lab.

An engineer from Pacific Biosciences prepared the system for removal from the lab, including removing all the systems cladding, but unfortunately had to cut a few cables between the main unit and the environmental chamber.

Whilst the blade server is included with the system, it has been wiped, so software may need reinstalling if you intend to use the system in full again.

Strangely the information plate on the back of the unit just says 'PacBio RS' and not 'PacBio RS II' as would be expected, but the lab called it an RS II, and the cladding on the front says RS II, so we presume this is RS II.

The engineer said that whilst getting the unit up and running again might be difficult, there is an enormous value of the system in parts. Apparently the camera part alone cost £125k.

We have not removed any parts from the system whatsoever.

This system was removed from a university laboratory where it was surplus to requirements.

The unit is in good used cosmetic condition. It powers on, initializes correctly, and has passed a random movement test. A video demonstrating its operation is available.

Further testing could not be conducted at our facility.
