Molecular Devices ImageXpress Ultra XLS High Content Confocal Plate Reader Lab

This Molecular Devices ImageXpress Ultra XLS System was removed from a university during a lab clearout.

The lab informed us that there was a the following error in the software and it was too expensive for them to get an engineer in to diagnose further. As a result of the below,.

During start up, there was a DSP 111 error reported for the Y axis and testing with PolyCom app confirmed that this was only on the Y axis. The Y stayed free moving at all times, having never initialised.

We had a Molecular Devices engineer assess the unit. They recommended that it is beyond repair and can only be used for spares.

Only the following parts can be used as spares for other ImageXpress models

Lasers :

488(nm) + 561(nm) - Coherent

408(nm) + 630(nm) - Blue Sky

The main stage + beam splitter wheel

The remaining parts are specifically for the Ultra XLS models only

It is in perfectly good working order. There are some cosmetic defects, primarily on the ThermoStat C itself and the ThermoTop cover block (please see pictures).

The ThermoStat C was in use in an industry laboratory up until June 2025 and was removed during a lab shutdown.

The item comes with the following fully operational block attachments:

96 well-plate block
2 mL sample holder block (24 samples max)
15 mL sample holder block (8 samples max)
50 mL sample holder block (4 samples max)
ThermoTop cover block (capable of covering the 96 well-plate and 2 mL sample holder blocks)

The item comes with the power cable.
