Micromass Waters Q-TOF Premier Mass Spectrometer

This system was removed from a university laboratory where it was surplus to requirements.

The spectrometer is in excellent cosmetic condition, although the right-hand side panel is missing. A new HV PSU was fitted, but the unit cannot be fully tested as the required external control PC with MassLynx software is not included.

When powered on, the internal instrument control PC displays “VXLD 1.2” during boot and does not progress further. This behaviour matches the previous owner’s report, and without the external control PC the system cannot be operated. The HV PSU has since been removed.

Due to the missing HV PSU and the absence of the external control PC, this system is sold strictly as spares or repair.

The item is in a fairly good used cosmetic condition.

It appears to have some errors. Firstly the BX-UCB controller is showing an Error with CDT, which is the U-UCD8A turret. When switched on the turret makes a horrible noise, sounds like the motor is possibly stuck. We managed to clear the error by connecting the turret from another BX61 we have in stock, but it was removed after testing.

It powers on and is in good cosmetic condition. No further testing has been carried out. According to the previous owner, the unit was fully functional when last used for UV/Vis absorbance measurements and has been in storage for over four years.

The model is still supported by Molecular Devices, but up-to-date SoftMax Pro software is not included and would need to be purchased separately.

It is in good cosmetic condition and powers on. The display isn't clear, but it looks to be showing "error 04".

The display then stopped showing any numbers or any sign of power. the ON/OFF switch still showed power. All buttons did not appear to be responsive.

The Peristaltic pump did not move or appear to show any sign of power. The pump at the back of the unit did not show signs of power or make a noise either.

Trolley included.

It is sold for spares/repairs.
