The unit is a Don Whitley Scientific miniMACS anaerobic workstation intended for the handling, incubation and examination of anaerobic microorganisms within a controlled atmosphere.

The workstation is supplied on a height-adjustable mobile stand and includes a gas regulator, oxygen sensor, foot control and a selection of spare components.

According to the client, the unit was in use up until approximately 2018, when it was placed into storage. It has not been recently tested and its current working condition has not been confirmed.

Due to the length of time in storage, the purchaser should arrange appropriate inspection, recommissioning and leak testing before use. The gas connections, oxygen-control system, sleeves, cuffs and seals should also be checked by a suitably competent person.

The unit is a SciQuip INCU-160C programmable refrigerated BOD incubator with a 160 L internal capacity. Equipment of this type is commonly used for biological oxygen demand testing, microbiology, stability studies and other applications requiring controlled low- and elevated-temperature incubation.

The incubator has a stated operating temperature range of 4°C to 65°C and can be programmed with up to 10 individual segments. Each segment can be configured with its own ramp time, set temperature and hold time, with the complete programme repeatable up to 99 times.

According to the client, the incubator was purchased new in 2021 and was last serviced and calibrated in December 2023. It has been in storage since early 2024.

Pacific Biosciences PacBio RS 2 II System DNA Sequencer Lab

This system was removed from a lab as it was no longer required.

It was in full working order prior to removal from the lab.

An engineer from Pacific Biosciences prepared the system for removal from the lab, including removing all the systems cladding, but unfortunately had to cut a few cables between the main unit and the environmental chamber.

Whilst the blade server is included with the system, it has been wiped, so software may need reinstalling if you intend to use the system in full again.

Strangely the information plate on the back of the unit just says 'PacBio RS' and not 'PacBio RS II' as would be expected, but the lab called it an RS II, and the cladding on the front says RS II, so we presume this is RS II.

The engineer said that whilst getting the unit up and running again might be difficult, there is an enormous value of the system in parts. Apparently the camera part alone cost £125k.

We have not removed any parts from the system whatsoever.

The Class 3B laser unit was only visually inspected and was not powered on or tested due to safety precautions. The LSM 510 META unit also remained untested, as the necessary power supply is not supplied. Access to the PC was restricted due to password protection, preventing verification of software functionality, and during internal review, the connection layout between the laser and microscope could not be confirmed.

The unit is currently in need of cleaning and is being sold from storage/disassembly condition.
